The beginning of

Sanika Bihani, a 16-year-old living in Hyderabad, decided to do something about it and made it her goal to increase organ pledges, thereby increasing the number of lives saved each year.

Sanika started Gifting Life initiative in the summer of 2023 when she was 15 years old. The initiative was a tribute to her Nanu (maternal grandfather) who wished to donate his organs after life but couldn’t, as he passed away during India’s second COVID wave. Sanika’s dedication to her grandfather’s dream become a mission to save lives through organ donation.

By raising awareness and encouraging organ pledges, Gifting Life aims to create a significant impact on organ donation rates in India, honoring her Nanu’s legacy and helping save countless lives.

We have partnered with MOHAN Foundation - the leader in it's space in Organ Donation. Founded in 1997, MOHAN foundation is a not-for-profit, charity organisation in India that works in the field of deceased organ donation and transplantation.

We have also partnered with AdOnMo which is the leader in powering the next wave of high-impact advertising in India. Via their apartment network, we have been able to lead Organ Donation conversations across 1000s of apartments in Hyderabad.
